Mid Game Gear

Introduction

The goal of mid-game gear progression is to increase starforce while also upgrading all of your equipment to survive higher level content. This will require significant meso investment. Check here for a meso making guide. This is the point when you must focus on building your account if you want to progress any further.

Starforce

  1. If you followed the early game gear guide, you should be ABing at SF144 with a mythic weapon, maybe mythic armor and all of your other equipment should be unique or legendary. If you are funded, your goal is to start building a mythic jaihin weapon that preferably has a CD or BA emblem. If you are not funded, start fusing your armor to mythic while maintaining 144SF. [144SF]
  2. Keep doing expeditions. Your goal is to have 7-set boss accessories. Ideally, you should also have chaos Zakum helm and chaos PB belt. These will last you until end game. [144SF]
  3. The next starforce goal is 168SF. It represents a large increase of experience and meso, but requires better gear. Most classes will require a mythic weapon and a few pieces of mythic armor with 7-piece boss set. To reach this point, you should fuse your equipment to mythic and only enhance them with scrolls to prevent them from breaking. At the same time, if you are still using an epic secondary, buy an unique secondary and enhance it to 10SF. You will need 19-20sf on each of your equipment and if you have duplicate boss accessories, you can enhance them for additional SF. [168SF]
  4. SF180/SF194 will not only require enough SF, but also gear that allows you to kill fast enough to take advantage of those fields. See below on how you can achieve the strength to grind efficiently at these maps. [SF180/194]

The rest of this guide will focus on the different aspects of the gear system, such as potentials, flames, souls and emblems.

Potentials

Potentials are available for gear epic rank or higher. There are four ranks of potentials: rare, epic, unique and legendary. Legendary potentials are only available to gear of mythic rank or higher. Potentials offer 2-3 lines of stat bonuses. Equipment with 2 lines can be increased to 3 lines using “stamps” available in content shops or through events. Read the Potentials Guide for optimal stats to “cube” for using occult and potential cubes.

Rebirth Flames

Flames are another source of stat increase available to all equipment except accessories. A piece of equipment may have 1-2 lines of flames. Stat increases from flames consist of two parts. The first being the stat that is increased and the second is the stat that the first part is based on (e.g.Mag Atk increased by 1% of Max HP). Higher grade flames have higher chances to yield 2 lines upon use.

Soul

Souls can provide you some useful stats such as Crit DMG and EXP increase. Soul can be added to Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Belt, Shoulder and Cape by using soul enchanters. You can obtain soul enchanters from events, the Gold Leaf shop or Trade Station.

Conclusion

By upgrading your gear with starforce, potentials, flames and souls, you will see steady increases in your DPS. If this is your main character, continue to the End Game Gear guide to learn how you can build BiS/Emblem equipment to maximize your damage for the hardest content. Otherwise, your newly geared alt should be sufficient to survive in Arcane Force fields for meso and nodestone farming once it reaches level 200.
